APWU of Florida Breaking News

Stamp

We are sad to announce that because of the ongoing issues with the Coronavirus pandemic, and the guidelines put out from the CDC, the APWU OF FLORIDA Executive Board has voted to postpone the 2020 State Convention and cancel the Spring Seminar in Jacksonville this coming May 4-8, 2020. We will be looking for dates to reschedule as soon as things around the nation start to improve. Our first concern was the safety of our members and their families. There was quite a lot of discussion on this issue and we all have taken many factors into consideration. While some might think this is a little too early to have made this decision, we felt that Locals and invited guests needed the time to change their arrangements for this event and be considerate of safety and health for the overall membership. We will notify the Local Presidents when a date has been rescheduled.

In Solidarity,

APWU of FL Executive Board

Stamp After five weeks, more than 200,000 people have signed petitions to protect our public Postal Service. Many more have signed and returned paper petitions to A Grand Alliance to Save Our Public Postal Service, and our allies have joined us in sending their own versions of the petition. Your coworkers, neighbors and allies are standing together to say that the U.S. Mail Is Not for Sale!

These numbers are a good start, but we need to do more to show how strongly people support our Postal Service.
